Looking for fun fabrics in Paris

Leaving for Paris in 20 days (woohoo!).

One goal is to try and find some fabric I can use for throw pillows, general decorating. I'm thinking along the lines of the beautiful fabrics used to make saris.

Does anyone know of shops in Paris where I can find this?

Hi janeygirl:

I just topped a thread on this subject from a couple of days ago for you. It's called something like, "Prices in Paris, especially Fabric."

Also, if you enter Fabric AND Paris in the search engine window at the top of the page, a few other threads on this subject will come up.

Good luck and have a great time in Paris. I'll be there in September.

Jennie

Wow - I watch this board pretty closely and I don't recall seeing the thread you topped.

Thanks, Jennie.

If you're looking specifically for sari fabric then try the Rue du Faubourg St Denis near the Gare du Nord. This is as close as it gets to "Indiatown" in Paris, and there are plenty of silk and sari stores on this bustling street.

Merci beaucoup, hanl! This looks like exactly what I was hoping to find.
