Looking for foodie reports - Paris

I'm having problems with the search function in this new format.

I seem to remember Ira and djkbrooks had some great food reports but I can't find them.

Help!

This is the report from djkbooks (notice the spelling; could be why your search didn't work): http://www.fodors.com/community/euro...ember-2007.cfm

Hello luveurope, my newest issue of Paris Match just featured these bistros for their <<raffinement, convivialite, et prix amiables>> : Pierrot, 18 rue Etienne Marcel, 11eme, Jadis, 208 rue de la Croix-Nivert, 15eme, and Miroir, 94 rue des Martyrs, 18eme. It also offered these links to restaurant guides: www.lefooding.com, www.bottingourmand.com and www.auberegesbistros.com.

Enjoy your trip, I think we will be in Paris at the same time, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for decent weather for all of us.

My report from late 2006 has a lot of food detail; the Paris section is at the end:

You can wade through this and find some excellent reports done by my friend, who joined me on this trip..some pictures, too.

If you like to cook, check into L'Atelier des Chefs, a fairly new "cooking school" with sites all over Paris. For 17 euros, you attend a 30 minute cooking lesson (at lunchtime) then sit down and join the other "gourmands" in eating what you have prepared. There are other longer cooking lessons, as well, but the lunchtime one is easy, quick and extremely popular with locals. Great fun!

Just returned from Paris yesterday and did a lot of eating! I am still getting unpacked and organized so I don't have the names of all the places we ate handy but a few good ones are - Chez Rene (traditional bistro in 5e), Le Beaujolais d'Auteuil (16e near bois de boulogne) and a place called something like L'Alibili (corsican food in the Marais). I have also eaten at La Ferrandaise which was good. We didn't have reservations anywhere (just two of us) and never had a problem getting a table. Maybe the economy? We have had lots of luck with the Pudlo guide and we also had the Alexander Lobrano book. Have fun.
