Looking for floor tile in Paris

My wife and I will be going to Paris in December. We would like to bring back some floor tile (a small # to use as accent pieces)to use in a (small) reflooring project in January. I am haveing a hard time find web sites of flooring stores in Paris. Does anyone have any suggestions (places that sell floor tiles or web site of Paris "home improvement" or tile stores)? Thanks for your help!

MJ, have you tried a search using the word "ceramics"?

Why not a home improvement store like BHV.

You might try asking the folks at French Country Living in Great Falls, VA; they import tiles from France. Address, phone # are probably available thru Google.

The last time we were in Paris we were wandering around the Marais area and found a street that had several home decorating type stores on it. We went into on that specialized in paint, wall paper, etc, and it was great. We even bought some hand made paint brushes that are not only quite useful but are by themselves beautiful, with wooden handels, brass fittings, and nice bristles. If you could happen on this street you might find what you want. Sadly, I do not recall the name. I do know it was in the Marais not far from Place de Vosges. Good luck. You might also try this site for yellow page type listings:
http://www.pagesjaunes.fr/pj.cgi

MJ:
On my last trip to Paris in May I was also searching for some tile handmade in France. There is a nice tile store in the Viaduc des Arts. Their web site is www.viaduc-des-arts then check for the appropriate craftsman. I also found a nice little store in the Marais area. The only problem is that if you want hand made tile you have to order it. The stores I talked to said they only have sample tiles on hand but they would be glad to order more for you. I do have the business card of the store in the Marais if you want the address and telephone just contact me. Good luck and have fun looking.

I'll second the BHV suggestion. They have a very good hardware and do-it-yourself section. La Semaine also has a d-i-y department.
