DKA - Thanks for reading and if you need any tips I'm always happy to help so feel free to keep following up on this thread if I can help you.

pconte - After having looked at your oyster map link I was under the impression you were going to be merely driving along a coastal route in Brittany in search of oysters. You should have no problem with overcrowding at MSM in October. Hope you have a wonderful time and let me know if you need any further help/tips.

Quick follow-up ...

La Maison Flore was a terrific choice in location, facility and hostess. One of our top two lodgings of the trip. Highly recommended.

And ... I found the family oyster operation I was looking for and had a "transcendant" las plats experience. (I quickly learned to not make the mistake of calling Golfe du Morbihan oysters "Belons"!)

I'll post more on our trip later.

Just found this thread, so you may already have made your decision, pconte.

if not, this is the place we stayed at for one night this summer, in Concarneau. The rooms were spacious, the position overlooking the sea and beach lovely, and the food looked good. it was about 5 mins to drive to the town or a walk of about 20.

have a great trip, whereever you go.
