Looking for an apartment in Madrid.
Doing a search brings up almost nothing from the past couple of years. With all the Fodorites renting apartments in other cities, do any of you have good recommendations for Madrid?
We'd like a "central" location -- not out in the suburbs, and only need a one bedroom for two people, but don't like more than two flights of stairs, and like a place with some character, charm, or style. Air-conditioning is a must -- as well as my usual requirement of a "real" shower, not a tub with hand-held device. I found this one, but have no recommendations to go by: comments? http://www.rentalspain.com/1-G.htm |
Patrick, have you tried VRBO.com? We found a great apartment in Barcelona through that site--it was on Passeig de Gracia--main thoroughfare-- beautifully furnished with original artworks, completely equipped kitchen, washer/dryer, even use of the owner's computer. I didn't want to leave!

Yes, there are only three apartments on VRBO in Madrid. The only one bedroom one is out from the center. The others are both two bedrooms, but still might be OK. One has no pictures but I have requested them. Just not excited by them.

Hi Patrick
This one looks OK at 55E a day - http://www.hostalhispano.com/AptosPaquita/index.html There is also this studio at 90E. Look at the "Rates" for details of the apartment. Look at "Rooms" and view photos on left hand side. I stayed near here. Fantastic location. Loved Plaza Santa Anna! http://www.hostalpersal.com/ Good luck. |
