looking for an apartment in Brussels
Two retired couples are traveling to Brussels in November. We are in good shape, thankfully! We'd like a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment in walking distance of the Grand Place. Any good experiences to share? Thank you!

Take a look at vrbo.com, homeaway.com, some of the vacation rental websites. We've rented many, many times thru these two and have had good luck. For the most part, rentals have been as pictured and described, maybe we've been fortunate but will continue. I've also rented thru 9flats.com for Berlin but not sure if they have rentals in Brussels. Good luck in your hunt and have a nice trip.

Thank you. Have also used vrbo.com, homeaway.com often, but they have fewer options in Brussels. Will keep trying. Am also looking at Trip Advisor vac props.

You might also try googling 'aparthotels Brussels' - rather than full apartments these are usually serviced apartments. There are a few in Brussels. If you can't get one for 4 adults you might get 2 in the same building. And if you can't get one near the Grand' Place - and I imagine this could be the case, as I think the main demographic for guests of these would be connected with business or EU government, not tourists - then go for a neighbourhood like Louise or Stéfanie. Upscale neighbourhoods with good connections to the centre of the city by metro (the nearest station is called 'Louise', and you would probably want to get off the train at De Brouckére), or by tram (the website is down right now but you may eventually be able to look trams up yourself: http://www.stib-mivb.be). Suffice it to say that there are many trams. I will pop back later and see if I can get the tram numbers for you.

How about:
http://www.tripadvisor.com.au/Hotel_...-Brussels.html Read the first review - not perfect, but certainly the features you are looking for (location, 2br, 2bath), so if you can take that on board, you may have somewhere. Or at Louise: http://www.vrbo.com/429443 I think that's not a bad location, and a nice looking property too. Trams, as I promised: 92, 93 run the length of Avenue Louise and intersect with Louise metro and Parc metro; 94 stops at Louise metro. The second property is within walking distance of the metro; I would not bother with the tram unless it is raining (which happens a lot in Brussels :), bring a brolly). Lavandula |

These look ok. I live near the Montgomery one and they have some 2 beds |
Interesting that "Shaun davis" writes in broken english.
And posts only to advertise. |
And unearth old threads.

YOU ARE GOING TO GET SCAMMED (you are already being set up buy "Handerson"
In 2013, our daugher lived in Brussels (exchange student at ULB) Without fail, every apartment we considered was a scam. I would fly to Brussels almost every month to meet with the "owners" and I have never head so many mothers get sick in the last minute. From the top of mu head, an apartment on rue De Nancy is used by scammers. There were two others that I have marked on my home computer. In addition to the usual Western Union tipoff, any Irish bank, Ulster Bank especially, is a guarantee that you are getting scammed. Mark |
Hello,
We had good experience with search engine http://www.a-hotel.com. We were looking for accommodation in an apartment in Brusells city center for a family (2 + 2) for 8 days. Finally we choose 3-bedroom apartment http://www.a-hotel.com/belgium/bruss...ome-apartment/ for the price 140 Euro for all (35 Euro / person), which I think is due to location, size and quality accommodation really great deal. And looking to their site there should be also smaller apartments available. Wide range of apartments can be found at http://www.a-hotel.com/belgium/bruss...ion=apartments. You can also try https://www.airbnb.cz/s/Brussels--Belgium, where you can rent also just individual rooms in the apartment, when you share a bathroom and a common area with other residents of the apartment. It would already not suit for us but otherwise it is outside Hostel probably the cheapest option. |
