Looking for air conditioned villa rental west of Bordeaux near the ocean
Looking for air conditioned villa which would be near the Cap Ferret peninsula or on it. South of Lacanau, west or north of Bordeaux would be acceptable. Not in the Arcachon area though, too busy. Thanks to any that may respond. Looking for the late June into July, 2005 time span.

I can't tell if you are asking about agencies or if you want advice on a specific property. If it's the latter, I don't know one, but if I did, it could be a waste of time to make a suggestion without knowing how many persons/bedrooms/basic features (air conditioning can't be youre only requirement, is it?) and what approximate price range you are seeking.
If you want advice on an agency, then I can tell you that I have had good experiences twice with www.francevillas.com and they certainly show some properties in the Cap Ferret area.
And chances are, you can find a lot of useful leads and info on the website www.slowtrav.com
Best wishes,
Rex

Thanks Rex. Just looking for a place for two, my wife and myself. She has a bit of asthma and does not travel well without a/c unfortunately. I am open to size as long as it is not overly expensive, say up to three bedrooms, but it could just be one, or even a suite or other type of apartment. Would love to find it on the Cap Ferret peninsula, but that is très difficile I believe, in that most residences do not have a/c.

You're welcome. I would still urge you to contact Francevillas directly (perhaps best by telephone) and have them look for you. They are constantly seeking new properties to represent - - they just might know something to help.
And you can also post questions over at slowtrav.com (the forum site might be called slowtalk.com - - I forget).

look at http://www.logis-de-france.fr/uk/ for listings of hotels belonging to this low to moderate price small hotels. (the uk at the end of the web address means you'll get the English language site). If I remember my searches for the Atlantic coast near Bordeaux, there were some with AC.
