Looking for a travel buddy to tour Eastern Europe and Spain

I'm a soon to be retired, very young at heart and physically fit 61 yr old and am about to start the next phase of this great journey called life. I have a fair amount of travel experience in Eastern & Western Europe mostly done on a little bit better than a shoe string budget for the past 15 years. I carry all my belongings in a daypack (makes it so easy on and off planes, trains and buses) whether I'm off for a 1 week jaunt or a 6 week one. You can always buy whatever you didn't bring with you as there are always second hand stores for that! I love to wander along beaches and hike (not too strenuous) trails through the countryside. Don't get me wrong, I love wandering the streets of Paris but give me an isolated beach along the Baltic in Poland and I am in heaven My greatest pleasure when travelling is being able to get into someone's kitchen in a Bed and Breakfast place and learn to cook something new from the owner. I have an anthropology and art degree and a 30 year background working in gardens and nature for my career. Life is about exploring other cultures, the people, their surroundings and how they live their lives. I am hoping to find a travel companion, (male or female) that just likes to wander (I walk a lot on location) through small towns and villages, explore what's down a dirt road or behind that picket fence and just be in the moment of where they are at. My next trips are going to be renting a car to explore more the off the beaten track locales, combined with train travel just to cover distances if necessary. I'm planning 3 week Aug-Sep 2017 and have Andalusia, Spain & Barcelona, Portugal, Sardinia, Prague & Budapest areas, Baltic coast of Poland up Tallin Estonia and perhaps across to Finland in my bucket list. Lots of places I desire to see. I am easy going and just have learned over the years to adapt to whatever challenges on-the-road self planned travels throw my way. If you think I might be a travel companion you could hang out with for 3 weeks add a post!

Indiana, I don't see mention whether you're a man or woman. If a woman, read on.

There's a website called thelmaandlouise.com, for women looking for travel companions. Lots of trips are posted and members looking for an adventure reply to chat and to join the trip, part or all.

I'm currently in Mexico, have met up with another woman I met on T&L and we plan to get together from time to time as it suits us. I suggest you post details of your trip and you may very well find one or more companions. I think the likelyhood of success will be grsater on a specialty site such as that one. Good luck!

Good point MmmPerdu. I am a woman. I will certainly check out that site. I'm sure there are lots more. I have no preference whether I travel with a man or woman as a companion. My last 11 years of travel were with a man and we got on famously. Just went with the flow and it seemed to work. I can go alone but enjoy sharing moments with someone. I'm very much a "oh look at that" type of person as I see something out a train window! Happy travels!

I, too, had a travel buddy for 10 years, we went all over the world together for months at a time, without "complications". But I guess he wanted complications and got married. That was the end of that but I guess nothing lasts forever. It was great fun while I had him.
