Looking for a specialist agent to Italy

I'm travelling to Italy in December for two weeks. I'm looking for a specialist tour operator or travel agent that can organise an itinerary for me and book hotels and country homes.
It's only 2 people, so I need a company that specialises in individuals.
Can anybody recommend a company, offering good service and reasonable prices.
I tried contacting "travel to italy" and they never got back to me after telling me a couple of times they wold.
Thanks.

I take it you're not one of those who looks forward to the research and challenge of putting together your own trip? I suppose it's not for everyone.

Good Luck!

Although he doesn't advertise it here, one of the regular posters on fodors and slowtrav.com, bobthenavigator, organizes trips to Italy for individuals. He is extremely knowledgeable.

I organize tours, in conjunction with Scala Reale/Context Rome, and would be delighted to assist you in any way that I can. Where specifically in Italy do you want to go to? I travel to Italy about 5-6 times a year and have extensive experience in the historical research aspect of trips/sites.

Jim Zurer is in Italy right now and I do not BOOK anything--just plan everything. However, at slowtrav.com find the ad for Sally Watkins--she is a true agent and is very good.
