Looking for a nightclub in Paris

Could anyone suggest a 20-something nightclub in Paris? What's the best way to get back late at night? Thanks!

Jill: I don't have suggestions about nightclubs, but there are different ways to get back late (depending on where you stay):
1. Walk
2. Noctambus (about FF 15.-, 18 different directions 7/7 nights)
3. Taxi
4. Find somebody who drives you home
To find out about the Noctambus, go to
www.ratp.fr
You will find a link there.

Thanks Ursula! We'll probably just end up taking a taxi.

I don't know too much about clubs, either, but someone took me to The Lizard Lounge (located on rue du Bourg de Tibourg in the Marais). It was big fun and a WIDE range of ages. Also pretty local. I simply caught the Metro home--all the transplanted Americans tell me, "Paris is not like the States, ya know! It's very safe!" Nonetheless do proceed with caution.

Jill: Good and wise decision, the taxi I mean. For a good club, you might ask other people you meet during the day in cafés or so whether they have a good idea.
For general inputs you can still buy "Pariscope" or check www.parisavenue.com
I think they have a link "going out" or "nightlife". Just to give you ideas where you could go.

what kind of music r u interested in ?
r u here mid week , week end ?

The best clubs , in terms of upfront dance music , are actually predominantly gay clubs.
These clubs will eventually let u in
The biggest of these is called th Queen & is on the champs elysees
Straight / mixed night is on a wednesday

there is a 3 floored club , straight , called the Locomotive which is good for week ends , metro Place de clichy
different style of music on each floor
entrance usually 100 FF but includes a free drink

there is club called the Scalla, very touristy but a good atmosphere & varied music on Rue de Rivoli metro louvre rivoli

On a thursday night I would suggest the
Rex , a converted cinema, for house/garage music european style
metro bonne nouvelle

There are a lot of bars that double as clubs such as the lizard lounge
These place are open till between 2 & 4 am & are often better than the mainstream clubs , certainly cheaper & less hassle to get into

i myself DJ at the Underground every friday night , downstairs at the Long Hop Pub , Metro Maubert Mutualité from 11pm till 3am
House , garage & tecno if it takes yours fancy
This is the best & liveliest , & i m not lying , british bar in Paris - clientele is young , usa , english , french
come & say hello if u get the chance

there is also an american bar called the Chesterfield open late most nights on Rue de Berri just off the champs elysees
& has a Dj & live music most nights

In the bastille area there are lots of happening places , in particular Sans Sanz , on rue faubourg st antoine
this is a lively bar , club , restaurant , free to get in but get there early

in terms of getting home at night take a taxi
They are cheap & safe
have fun

Hey Jill -

Mark's given you some good pointers! Also check out Radio Nova's Hot Places:

http://www.novaplanet.com/html/hotpl...tml/hhome.html

Just click on a neighborhood.

The metro stops running 12.30ish, so I usually try to club within walking distance of where I'm staying that night (half an hour radius) . . . which usually means most of Paris!

Have fun = )

Thanks for the info everyone (especially Mark)! We won't be in Paris until Saturday night, too bad we can't meet up!

Hey, Rex ... there's a nightclub named after you in Paris! ;-) You're even trendy in France.
