Looking for a hotel review?
 

Hi all,

I'm pretty new to these boards but,like many others, I've quickly become hooked! I've noticed that many of the postings are from people looking for background information on hotels (i.e. not just the hotel's own publicity)& I thought you might be interested in a website based here in the UK, which contains independent reviews of thousands of hotels all over the world. It's at www.thisistravel.co.uk & if you scroll down the menu on the left hand side you'll find the link to the accomodation reviews. They're not scared to be critical and they also contain links to the hotels' own websites if you're interested in checking rates, availability etc.

Of course, I would still recommend that Fodors.com should be your first port of call as the advice here is second to none!

There is always www.tripadvisor.com too for hotel reviews.

You're quite right - tripadvisor is excellent. I just thought that people who don't live in the UK might not know about thisistravel.

Hi, thanks for posting the link to thisistravel.com, always good to have a resource for hotel reviews. Do you know if you can ADD a hotel to this site (or to tripadvisor.com?) I have stayed in some smaller properties that are not listed on these sites and it would be nice to add them in case someone else was searching for information on those hotels/inns.

Yes & no! You can post a review on tripadvisor, but not on thisistravel. I think this is because the reviews on thisistravel are actually supplied by an indpendendent travel firm.
