Looking for a hotel/guest house in Istanbul

Hi,
We;ve got six adults traveling to Istanbul in March, and would appreciate any suggestions as to a moderately-priced hotel/guest house/ apartment.... as well as dining recommendations and must-not-miss things to see.

Thanks in advance!
Kathy

Have you done a search and read all the info on Istanbul? You might do that first and then get back to the board for more detailed questions.

Why not consider Istanbul Holiday Apartments by Galata Tower? Beautiful, stylish apartments in an ideal location. Their website
www.istanbulholidayapartments.com
has lots of information about the city as well.

We stayed at Sude Konak Hotel, sude.konak.com. Good location but a little less touristy then in the heart of Sulahmet, very quiet and easy walking to the Galata Bridge and Sulahmet. I found the following website helpful in researching hotels. bizukraine.com/hotels

I loved the Blue Hills Hotel! It is moderately priced boutique hotel located in the Sultanahmet within a short walk of all the sights. The Seven Hills Hotel is really great too- the terrace has views to die for! I became friends with the family who owns both hotels while I was in Istanbul-you will never meet more friendly or accomodating people!

I stayed at the Ritz-Carlton in Istanbul when I was there in July, 2005, so I can't help you with a cheap hotel, sweetie darling.

You DO NOT want to miss the Topkapi Palace, especially the Harem. DO NOT SKIP THE HAREM.

If you want, I can email you my trip report on Istanbul.
