Looking for a flat in Rome
My husband and I are traveling to Rome as well. We will be there in June 2014. We are looking for an apartment in Rome. We want to stay 4 nights. We want one with a fridge and stove top so we can cook some on our own. Do you know of any flats or apartments in Rome for 2 adults? We are looking for an inexpensive one too. Preferably under 350 euros. Thank you!!

We rented this apartment in Trastevere and loved it! The owner is American and very easy to deal with

Jamikins.....great looking apartment but boy that bed looks very small. That seems to be my issue with apartments as we are used to a king size bed which often in Europe is what Americans consider a queen size.
Pureleigh, it might be challenging to find four nights for 350 euros but doable. Www.airbnb might be a place to look and I would only book something with a lot of good reviews. Also give a look at VRBO for cheaper apartments. One thing you should try to do is stay in Trastevers where the above apartment is or near the historic center.....Pantheon, Navona, Campo dei Fiori area or even the Monti which may be cheaper. Do not be tempted to book something way out of the center as you will spend too much time getting to the sites you want to see. It is so nice to have an apartment that you can collapse in for a short rest and head back out into the city as Rome is a busy, hectic city (fantastic though) and can wear you out. |
Hi pureleigh,
Do you mean 350 euros/night or 350 euros/4 nights? It will help us with our recommendations. Michele |
Funny I don't remember thinking the bed was small...
|
jamikins...that's a beautiful apt! Great price too.
|
350 Euros for the entire stay : ) that is what we are budgeting for now. thanks for your helpful advice!

350 for four nights is a bit low for Rome but you might try realrome.com and see if they have anything in your range or close to it. My sister and I took a no-frills trip to Rome once and stayed in one of the Cappellari studios. Small and basic but well-located and Real Rome is very easy to deal with.

Jamikins, I took a closer look at both photos of the bed and it was the photo taken from the foot of the bed that makes it look a bit narrow...the second photo is better perspective.
It does look like the minimum rental period is for 5 nights though which might not work out for pure Leigh. I am going to keep this apartment in mind for a future visit to Rome. |

Have a look at this one, near the Colosseum. I have booked this for my stay over New Years Eve 2013 for 1 adult, two teenagers for €120 per night. The owner has been a pleasure to deal with and it seems to get some good reviews. |
Sorry, forgot to add that NYE is high- season despite being the middle of winter. The prices may be better in June when you're planning to travel.
|
Have a look at airbnb, you should be able to find something there.
|
I am renting next month from Sleep In Italy, not sure about your budget though.

apartments in Barcelona are tiny , so expect a tiny bedroom and a normal double. If you want king size, you will need to check into a luxury hotel.

The loft at this B&B has what you are listing (stove/fridge) at 90€ a night. I don't know if their suite (80€ a night) has a stove although it's listed in the amenities (it's not shown in the pictures), but you could e-mail and ask. The location is convenient to most things.

Thanks for posting that B&B link, kybourbon. I like that location, Trastevere but not party central.

Jamikins.....great looking apartment but boy that bed looks very small. >>
lol - that's the size of the bed that I and millions of europeans sleep in EVERY NIGHT. A standard double, 4'6" wide. I know you might be used to wider, but honestly, what are you going to do with those extra 18 inches? the loft above does look good, and very good value. |
We've stayed in Jamikin's apartment 5 times for a total of over 6 weeks, and it's a great apartment in a wonderful location with a super landlady. The bed is indeed a standard double, which is what most rentals in Europe offer.

We stayed on Via Calamatta in Prati in April/May with sleepinitaly.com. It was perfect. We were immediately beside the Court of Appeal, 1 minute from Castl Sant'Angelo, 10 minutes from the Vatican and The Spanish Steps. We were 30 seconds from a bus stop. It was extremely quiet but close enough to be near everything. I highly recommend it.
