Looking for a fantastic meal in Ennis/traveling alone....

Going back to Ireland (10th trip)...I just booked it 2 nights ago and I'm leaving May 28! (going to see my aging mother who lives there...so, its not a typical vacation type trip).
However, this is the first time I will be going alone....I am not worried about being alone mind you, I am very good at being by myself...and I'm so familiar with Ireland.
I will say I'm not crazy to be flying there by myself though.....also, I will not have a navigator but I will have it mapped and I pretty much know the way to my moms.....about 3 hours from Shannon.

I have never gotten to spend much time in Ennis (driven though many, many times) so I'd like to spend my first night there....trying to figure out where....
and, I love good, sit-down dining food....
any ideas? I welcome any Ennis dining, hotels, and special B&B's as well!! (I have lots of resources for info. but I love personal testamonies better!!)

Thanks for any information!

Topping for Shadow plus hoping to hear some good ideas for my trip.

I'll be in Ennis 29 May for the last night of my SW Ireland trip before flying home from Shannon.

Where2travel: Too funny as I will be arriving on the 29th and that is the night I will be in Ennis!!
So far what sounds good to me is Juliano's at the Ashford Court Hotel on Old Mill Road....but I have not heard from anyone who has eaten there yet....

Have never been to Ennis, but since you're not getting much in the way of recommendations -- are you familiar with chowhound.com? It's a food discussion site; they have an International board and you could pose your question there. Good luck!

Kangoo....yes, I "am" a chowhound....LOVE that website...that is exactly why I cannot just settle for "any old" place!! ha ha...
I checked a few days ago and did not see anything but did not have time to go in depth....(too busy getting car and b&b's lined up) but I will go back on and post it....
Thanks for the reminder!
