We will be visiting Rome in late September and will be staying for 3 to 4 nights. Looking for a charming hotel in a convenient location to at least some of the major sights and nice restaurants. Price range around 300 eu. Any suggestions for hotel and restaurant recommendations?

We loved Hotel Campo de Fiori. We got a great deal there last Feb, but looks like prices have gone up for next May. I am also interested in learning more about Alberto Cesari, as it may be a good choice for our next visit.

We liked the Albergo Cesari. It's on a pedestrian street so theoretically a little quieter in a noisy city. But cars and vespas travel on the narrow street just to the right of the hotel. So maybe get a room on the left -- if noise is an issue. The location is great; that pedestrian street connects the Trevi Fountain with the Piazza Rotonda in front of the Pantheon.

We also liked the Hotel Campo dei Fiori and it's also well-located. But the Cesari is definitely nicer with bigger rooms.

For those that have stayed at Hotel Modigliani....how are the rooms with the balcony? Is there a good view of Rome or just the garden? Thanks.....it looks delightful as well.

We've stayed several times at the Fontanella Borghese which is about halfway between the Spanish Steps and Piazza Navona. The staff gives us new restaurant recos. On the last trip it was nearby Obika, a mozzarella bar and pizzeria (Napoli style).

The Hotel Modigliani is on a quiet side street, so even if there are rooms on the exterior with balconies it's hard to imagine they'd have "a good view of Rome," though maybe some on the back side do. Ours had a delightful view down over the lovely interior courtyard.

I stayed several times at Residenza Canali ai Coronari just off the famous street Via dei Coronari..near Piazza Navona.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Colosseum. It was a very reasonable price and was in a great location. It had a lovely roof terrace.

We have stayed at the Hotel Portoghese a few times, and I book clients there. I believe it's in your price range. For my money, this is the perfect location.

A bit more upscale, and a favorite with clients is the Hotel Nazionale Montecitorio, on the Parliament Square, making it super safe and quiet, yet in the heart of the centro.

Great eating in the neighborhood: Armando al Pantheon, and La Campana. Reservations needed at both.

Another vote for Albergo Cesari. Perfect location for walking to most sights; great staff and extremely helpful in making reservations for us while there.

For our upcoming visit to Rome in October, we are renting an apartment in the Campo de Fiori neighborhood. This will be a first for us and I am looking forward to the experience.

Aldeleid,our room was comfortable double room with twins beds minus the terrace.I traveled with my grand-daughter.
The breakfast was plentiful with various cuts of cold cheese, fruits, cereal, sweets juice, coffee etc..,

The people that worked at the desk were friendly..The location was super, near Piazza Navona and the Pantheon ..Via dei Coronari is a very quite street an is famous for its many antiques stores.

We always enjoyed our stay there.
