Looking for a beach between Florence /Turin
Hi,
We're planning to do a 10-12 day trip to Italy next week, starting in Rome, then we'll move to Florence and later on to Turin (Milan will be our last stop). We'd like to take a small (day would be enough) break in between Florence and Turin and would like to go to a small (preferably easily reachable by public transport) beach town on the Riviera. Does anyone have any recommenation? Thanks in advance, Greetings |
You already have four large cities to cover in 10-12 days, of which several days will mostly be lost to travel and its complications. I wouldn't add another destination.

Anyway, the quickest and easiest way between Florence and Torino doesn't go anywhere near the sea.

I would look at Levanto or Sestri Levante.

You could do an overnight anywhere between Pisa and Savona -- and then head up to Torino by train. It all depends on how far you want to travel in your first stretch to get to the beach - or what time of day you want to take your swim.
However, next week is just about the busiest time imaginable for the beaches, so it will be a trick to find something. You might want to take a look at booking.com, plug in your target date, and do a search for some of the following towns: Deiva Marina Sestri Levante Rapallo Bogliasco Arenzano Varazze Albisola Marina In the alternative, you could take the train to Genova Brignole or Principe, put your luggage in the train station, and then switch to a train to a beach town (or hop a taxi to Bocadasse), have a swim, then come back and retrieve your luggage and head on to Torino. You might be able to do the same for Savona. |
Also look in Levanto as suggested by bobthenavigator.
