looking for 2 to join us at the vatican

Anyone interested in splitting a private tour led by Roman Professor Enrico Bruschini?

frommemphis Aug 9th, 2007 07:08 PM

we were looking for someone to share vatican tour as well, but i think we are there the week after you?

JeanneB Aug 9th, 2007 08:33 PM

when are you going?

starbuck1105 Aug 9th, 2007 08:57 PM

What week will you be doing this? I'll be in Rome October 22-28.

JeanneB Aug 9th, 2007 09:14 PM

Darn, Starbuck. We'll be there Nov 7-12. Maybe we need to start a thread for sharing tours. Oh wait, this IS one!

Anyone interested in sharing private tour(s) in November, let me know.

I would love to join you...if only you could arrange the time off with my work and get me someone to stay with my 100 year old aunt!!! Just let me know and I'll book my ticket! :=)

We just booked a Context Rome tour for Tues Oct 23rd at 1:30pm called "Vatican Collections". This is a 3-hour tour and includes the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel. They also have a 4-hour that includes St. Peter's. We opted for this one because we have a Scavi at 9:15 and it let's out right at St. Peter's. (Heard you do not have to wait in any lines after Scavi...they can let you right into the Basilica.) So we will be done with Scavi by 11am. Do St. Peter's for hour or so, grab a quick lunch and meet our tour guide at 1:30.

We've read great things about Context Rome tours..guides are all professionals with art/history/theology type degrees, most advanced. And the tour is small...no more than six people. We were the first two booked for that particular tour that day. So, if you want to join us, there should still be room! :) It wasn't cheap, but we only have a couple of days in Rome and decided it is worth it.

Paula
(PS we're also considering adding the Roma Antica tour with them, to Colisseum and Forum)

Hi Paula:

Thanks for the message. I would love to join your group/tour. So that I book the correct tour, could you please confirm that it is the "Vatican Collections" tour at 1:30pm on 23 October? The docent is listed as Ursula Hawlitschka.

starbuck1105 Aug 11th, 2007 07:05 PM

Disregard my previous question. Had I paid more attention to your post, I would have realized that I already had the answers to my questions.

sarge56 Aug 11th, 2007 07:55 PM

Starbuck1105...it's ok. I've spent so much time planning this trip, I'm thinkin' I could be a travel agent! hahaha And yes, Ursula is who they confirmed via email will be our guide. :) Looking forward to meeting you! (We are mother [50] and daughter [29] on our first trip to Italy.)

If you want to email me direct, I'm at [email protected]. :) Ciao!

Jeanne
We're ther a wek before you beginning 10/31. Too bad.
We are planning a GTG and possibly share a private tour.
We are hoping to have a customized tour (we know a good tour guide).

Jabez:

Awww. Too bad. My twin and I arrive in Italy on Nov 1st and will spend 6 days in Tuscany before we end up in Rome. I hate missing the GTG!

Who is your guide? We're talking to Sonia Tavoletta (referred by Francesca Caruso).

Anyone else going to be around on Nov 8 - 11?
