Ronda, thanks for the kind words. I have a Google map I created with dozens and dozens of Rome Restaurants, most gleaned from trip reports here at Fodors! It was awesome to be able to look at it whenever we got hungry-- so we could find the nearest recommended restaurant.
If you'd like a link to the map, just email me at paulam910@ hotmail and I will email you a link to the map, if you are interested.
Buon viaggio! I'm already planning my return trip for next year!
PS-Anyone reading can send me email and I will share my Rome map with you. I also have one for Venice, but not as populated, yet.

Hi, sarge56 ... I was the other one who was sick (it went on for ages), and missed the dinner in Venice. I'm still cranky about that! But, I'm going back to Venice for 3 months this winter, so maybe I should quit complaining?
I very much enjoyed your report and the pictures. I can only see 149 photos ... am I doing something wrong?
Yvonne
PS Lots of Venice stuff on my blog http://ytaba36.wordpress.com/

Yvonne- sorry. Try this one:
http://sarge56initaly2011.shutterfly.com/
If you click on the first picture in the group, then click on "Slideshow", I think that is the best way to view the pics. Additionally, in the upper right corner is then an option to view "Full Screen".
Thanks again all.
