LONDONTOWN.COM

HAS ANYONE USED THIS WEBSITE AND IF SO, OPINION? SECONDLY, HAS ANYONE BOOKED WITH THEM AND CARE TO SHARE EXPERIENCE. I HAVE ENCOUNTERED GREAT DIFFICULTY IN REQUESTING A TRANSFER FROM HOTEL TO SOUTHAMPTON. EVEN CUSTOMER SERVICE FAILS TO DELIVER PROPER INFO. PERHAPS IT IS JUST MY INEXPERIENCE. ANY SUGGESTIONS APPRECIATED.

HI
May I suggest that you not use all caps in your posting (ditto your other posting)?
It's harder for most people to read, and the convention is that it comes across like shouting.

My only experience with londontown is for hotel browsing by price,(it's useful for that) and in each case so far I have found that the hotel in question will honor any low rate that londontown posts.

I booked a hotel through Londontown.com last December. I had no problems at all and would recommend the site based on my experience.

Hi Phxtraveller, I've used londontown and thought they were quite good. I like that you can cancel and change right up to the last day.

I'm not sure what your second question is... you are trying to get transportation from your hotel to Southampton? I guess I would probably just try to arrange this separately. The hotel may be able to assist you when you get there.

AND YOU'RE WELCOME

I just posted to your other post, but I will answer here about your transfer from London to Southampton. You will need to call Cunard, they have a bus transfer (as well as private limo) from the Victoria Bus Station in London. When I had first called them, they said they didn't have this service, but I called back and got someone different and they signed us up for. It cost $130 for two people, and the train from london to southampton was 45lbs each. Their service was excellent, you gave them your bags and the next time you saw them they were in your room, nice comfortable (2hours) bus ride.

I also used Londontown to book a hotel, and had no problems at all.

I didn't do anything else with them re transfers. I really didn't have any particular need for their customer service, I just booked the room online and that was it -- the hotel then contacts you.

I have booked hotel rooms through Londontown for dozen times, never have any problem.

From London to Southampton, besides train, you could take hourly bus from London Victoria Coach Station to Southampton Harbour Parade(near the Quay) for 12 pounds single, takes about 2 1/2 hours. For details , please check:www.nationexpress.com.
