Londons Knightsbridge area - Best Indian resturaunt?

Can anyone recommend a great Indian resturaunt in the Knightsbridge area (we are staying on Sloane Street)- price is not really the matter of concern- location, location, location... also, a resturaunt to grab a quick casual meal (french, italian, cafe, pub) to take back to the flat would be greatly appreciated!

Go up another tube stop to Gloucester Road, directly across the street is a fantastic Indian resto, the Bombay Brasserie... it isn't cheap and the food is exquisite!

Chutney Mary is a good choice in Chelsea for Indian food. I can't remember the address, but you could do a search as I believe I've looked at their website before. Bluebird grocery store in Chelsea is a wonderful place to get take-out!

Have a great time.

This isn't the Knightsbridge area, but not too far away -- I think by far the best Indian restaurant around there is Noor Jahan at 2 Bina Gardens, and it's much cheaper than Bombay Brasserie. It's quite well known as one of the best in London, I think (a friend turned me on to it, but it's true I've heard of many celebrities who say it is their favorite and it's not expensive)

I refrained from mentioning Bombay Brasserie when I read this post yesterday b/c it is not in Knightsbridge, but must heartily second the recommendation by Wendy. Worth a tube ride!

I would not recommend going to Chutney Mary's. This restaurant is designed for people who don't know any better. The surroundings are those of a higher quality restaurant but the food is abysmal, and the service obsequious but slovenly, especially for the price. Many of the dishes are dried out, gimmicky versions of Indian food, perfect for people who will eat anything if they think it is fashionable. Some of the dishes are outright ridiculous, like the idea of sprinkling curry spices on creme brulee and charging $7.50 for it. Take a cab or the Tube and go to a real Indian restaurant - almost any one at random in London is likely to be better.
