London -> York via train. £148 round trip???

well i wasn't referring to 50 quid or i'd stand and take two hours longer too. i did say a little more without knowing the exact differences here - if you can find a ticket at a 'little more' than take the GNER - if it's 50 quid then go the other route, of course.

Our travel companions offered to pick us up in Leicester, since they're driving from Hereford to York that morning and had planned to stop in Leicester anway. So yesterday I bought one-way train tickets from London Kings Cross to Leicester for the morning of the 17th. Then, I bought one-way tickets from York to London for the morning of the 24th. The total for these tickets was £13 per person from London to Leicester, and £16pp from York to London. I bought them directly through GNER.
