London with Priceline.
I went to London last June and I'm thinking about going back in May. Last year I stayed at the Days Inn Waterloo with a pretty good rate(63 pounds per night) but I've heard other people here who have used priceline here to get the County Hall Marriott for even less. How do you do this?
I'd also like to know if the Gatwick Express still exists? the cheapest airfare I've seen is around $580, (from houston) do you think it will go down before then? |
According to www.biddingfortravel.com, there are at least 7 4* hotels that Priceline use in the Westminster zone. Therefore, that's no way you can know for certain you'll get that one.
Despite all the rumors of its cancellation, I cannot get a confirmation; and their website is still up. $580 is a good fare from Houston to London in May. Doubt it will go down much. |
You can;t pick a hotel with Priceline - only an area and a category (3*, 4* etc) and once you bid they then determine what hotel you will get. (You might get the one you want - or one of several others - depending on what's available then.) And you pay even if you don;t like/use it.
To understand your options you should look at biddingfortravel.com or betterbidding.com. |
I would highly recommend using Priceline for London. We've gotten some nice deals through them (4* in Westminster for $97; Heathrow Marriott for $67.) I think it's the best way to get the most for your money in London.
Make sure you do your homework on www.biddingfortravel.com before you bid. Read the London Hotel List and the FAQs to figure out your bidding strategy. Also, check out the package deal vacations on Priceline - there are some good air/hotel packages. |
