London - Which Play is best to go to?
Phantom of the Opera is my favorite, should I attend this play or do you recommend another one while I'm in London? I'll be there in 2 weeks.

There is so much amazing theater in London, see one you haven't seen! Don't reserve tickets in advance -- wait until you get there, then buy a copy of Time Out and look through the theater listings to see something that looks fun and interesting and different and English. I personally would see After Miss Julie at the Donmar Warehouse, or Merry Wives of Windsor at the Old Vic. www.londontheatre.com will also tell you what's on.

Cool, thank you very much. Do you have any other suggestions on must see places or must eat at Restaurants while I'm in London.. I only have 2-3 days there.

We just saw Chicago at the Adelphi in London. It was fabulous.

Phantom of the Opera is a musical rather than a play.
Which play is best? This is a very personal question, and depends on your own tastes, buy an Evening Standard on a Thursday and read the Hot Tickets supplement which will give you all the info about plays in London. |
Patrick Stewart is on stage now. A piece from Ibsen.

Blood Brothers is great. It's been running forever so the theater is not usually packed, it's a really good story and it moves along well. I enjoyed it far more than Phantom.

Mamma Mia! I saw it in London, again in Chicago and now listen to the CD all the time. It is so much fun.

Joseph is on at the New London Theatre, where Cats used to play. This is a very happy, upbeat Lloyd Webber musical; you're bound to come out of it singing! And, as I've said on this forum before, The Regents Park Open Air Theatre. They are doing A Midsummer Night's Dream and also High Society (and a Shakespeare Drama).

"After Miss Julie": unfortunately, it start only on 20th Nov...
