London: "Wembley Legends Tour" for Soccer Buffs

Visitlondon.com, a government tourist promoter says:

"A visit to wembley Stadium is sure to thrill any soccer fan.

The Wembley Legends Tour is hosted by stars of the game and will allow visitors to go behind the scenes of England's changing room, walk the hallowed turf and stand triumphantly in front a replica of the FA cup."

Wow actual soccer stars giving fans tours of Wembley - this is a bit hard to believe - like A-Rod giving tours of the new Yankee Stadium.

Has anyone been on the Wembley Legends Tour?

And here my friends is a picture of the real CW - he is the bloke hoisting the trophy - in the front and center of the picture. Honestly.

Obviously Spurs were not playing then.

Actually, the trophy the bloke is holding up is the Johnson's Paint trophy - more you type of thing I'd have thought.

ps How can you have a "legends" tour of wembley - it's only a few years old? It's impressive though....

I rather suspect "stars of the game" may turn out to be a fairly elastic definition. Besides, plenty are only eloquent with their feet, and sometimes only one of them. And "undisputed legend" - plenty are legendary for all sorts of activities, not all of them on the pitch....

I think you would feel VERY short changed if I was your "legend"

Well there was still standing the old and very dreary IMO old Wembley Stadium when i first went to see the new Wembley Stadium two years ago - i suppose the legends of Wembley include from that stadium too

I wonder if the legends of Wembley include some real football players from the NFL's sell out regular season matches there the last few years?

I suspect they're what's classified as "legends in their own lunchtime".

What Wembley's aiming at is the old-style aura: the Cup Final, the white horse, Stanley Matthews, Bert Trautmann, Bestie, Gary Lineker.... jumpers for goalposts....

No American footballer (apart from OJ Simpson) would be arrested outside the USA.
