London Weather
Flying off to London tonight for the weekend, I'm wondering what it's like there. I checked weather.com, it seems like it's kind of chilly, low 40s, scattered showers on Monday. What are people wearing now? Is it humid/windy?
It's cold enough that humidity doesn't really matter; it's been one of the driest winters on recent record, actually, though of course be prepared for rain. A fairly warm, windproof jacket and medium gloves will serve you nicely. Certainly no need for sunglasses.
Thanks! Knocking on wood there is no rain.
Knock on wood, but definitely be prepared (although you most likely don't have to worry about a downpour like the middle US is used to; it's usually much more of a steady drizzle; I've seen one flash of lightning in the 3 months I've been here).
Not to rain on your parade, so to speak, but when we were there last week, we had a couple of days of real rain - steady and fairly heavy. But maybe we got the March allotment of rain - I think it's gone back to being pretty dry this week.
Last week was the wettest week since the new year, unfortunately (by the very unscientific method of how rainy it felt).

People, you're scaring me. All i have is a wimpy small umbrella that I hardly ever used.
I didn't mean to scare you! It really wasn't bad, just a bit wet. We had the small variety umbrellas, and every newshop (tube stations, etc) sell umbrellas for £6 or so. Wear a jacket geared to the temp and you'll be fine - especially if you'll be in and out of the weather.
Oh, ok. If it's just a bit wet then I can handle it. My flight is in 2.5 hours, I'd better leave my desk now!
