London Trip - Duke's or Cadogan Hotel

My wife and I are going for a few days trip to London. We are going to stay at either the Cadogan Hotel or Duke's Hotel - has anyone tried either and which would you recommend?

thanks a lot

I live in London, so I don't stay in hotels - but I pass by the Cadogan hotel on a daily basis and I am a regular at the Duke's Bar.
The Duke's appears to be a very civilised place and might win my preference. I cannot comment on the rooms, though.

Can't speak to the Cadogan but I've stayed at Dukes several times and it's lovely- in a fantastic neighborhood. If you or your wife like wine at all, be sure to stop by Berry Bros. & Rudd around the corner. Also take a walk down Jermyn and Old Bond Sts., check out Fortnum & Mason (lots of gorgeously packaged teas & biscuits, good for gifts). Buckingham Palace, the Mall and the Cabinet War Rooms are also all walkable from Dukes.

We love the bar at Dukes! The martinis are such a unique experience. I might choose Dukes just for this reason.

Duke's is a great place! Have a martini in the bar. Sorry to do this, but if you are considering these two hotels, you should also look at The Stafford Hotel, just around the corner from Duke's. My favorite of the three.

One more plug for Dukes, in case you didn't know. Ian Fleming had his martinis there and that's why James Bond had a thing for martinis. : )
