Which airport are you arriving in? Both Gatwick and Heathrow have easy access into London. Gatwick express takes about 30 mins to Victoria station and the tube from Heathrow takes about an hour to Central London.

Stansted or Luton also have transatlantic flights or even City if they are coming from Europe

For getting into town have a look at the website of the appropriate website or tell us which, of the 5 London airports, you are arriving at.

The day & date would also be helpful as what is valid on a Tuesday in June may not be valid on a Monday in August let alone a Sunday at any time

OK - LHR on a Friday night.

You can still catch the tube - but if your flight is delayed the tube may have shut down. If you stay near Paddington station you can take the Heathrow Express. It costs more than teh tube - but gets you to Paddington in about 15 minutes vs nearly an hour on the tube.

One other option to consider: Priceline a hotel at LHR. Then the next morning either leave your bags at the hotel or take them to LHR and store them there. Go into town on the tube. W/ an early start you'd be in London in the early a.m. and not have to haed back to LHR until about 5 p.m.

All times are GMT -8. The time now is 01:56 PM.
