London tours - Stonehenge, Bath, Windsor Castle
 

Can anyone recommend a good day tour to see Stonehenge, Windsor and Bath???

I wouldnt attempt all in one day, each one is worthy of a full day (well Stonehenge/Salisbury is a good day out). Trying to do them all will allow you only a small time to visit each and a very large time on a bus.

I recommend www.walks.com they have day trips with a guide and are excellent.

If you do want a pretty full day trip to these destinations, look at Viator, they have several day trip combinations. I have such a day trip already booked for later this year. www.viator.com

Look at the reviews for International Friends on TripAdvisor. They use passenger vans and keep their groups small. And their guides/drivers are super!

I just got back from London and used an International Friends tour to Oxford & Cotswolds. It was great and worth every penny. I now wish I had brought a notebook to write down all the interesting facts/stories that the driver gave on the way there and back (like another woman on the van did).

Two yrs. ago, took a London Walk trip to Bath and this time took a tour of Windsor & Eton, and another one to Greenwich. All 3 tours had Chris for the guide and she was great!

I know it is a lot to try and see in 1 day and probably lots of driving/travel time but my parents only have 4 days in London so we are trying to fit it in. Thankyou for the ideas. I will check them out

I will watch for it. Please don't skip any details about 'Peter and Alice' as I tried to get tickets on line for my trip in April, but they are completely sold out through the end of the run. I will have to be satisfied with seeing it through your eyes.

Cynthia: Our London Walk guide, Chris, did mention to us that anyone can purchase "stand up only" tickets for 10 pounds (if you wouldn't mind standing - the play lasted 1 1/2 hr.). You could email/check with the box office.

Must you have a tour? Windsor is so easy to do on your own. You can just take the train from London & the castle is a very short walk from the train station.
Bath I'd recommend staying overnight if you can, it's worth more than just a quick look, in my opinion.

W/ just 4 days they will barely have time to see anything IN London let alone touring out west. If they <i>must</i> go out of town, ten I agree Windsor on their own by train (will take about 3/4 day there/back/touring the Castle/town. Or even better IMO take the train to Hampton Court Palace.

IMO w/ just 4 days - spending 12 hours dashing from London to Windsor to Stonehenge to Bath to London is a poor use of time. They will actually spend more time on the bus than seeing anything.

You're so right, didn't realize they were in London for 4 days! I wouldn't do a day trip then, 4 days on London, they won't have enough time as it is.

My advice is keep for another time & truly enjoy London this time.
