London to Paris
Hi all! I will be traveling from London to Paris May 11th. I just checked Eurostar.com. The cheapest prices were around 73 pounds. Does this make sense?? It seems to expensive to me. Is there a better/cheaper way??

That doesn't seem expensive at all to me. But no, there is no 'better' option. Flying takes longer, is much more hassle, and usually costs as much or more.
And the only cheaper way is bus/ferry which takes a very LONG time.

not sure it is even cheaper than 76 pounds if you pay for the bus, the ferry and then the French train to Paris - may even cost more than that it seems and take all day. flying could be cheaper I suppose on some discount airlines but then you have to bet out to the airport and in from it (Ryan often used remote Beauvais airport for cheaper landing fees but it is a long bus or train ride from Paris.
Try www.raileurope.com - if in the U S - some poster reported getting a 65 pound ticket from them have not checked them out myelf but worth a look I guess - they may have a $15 or so transaction fee per order however. Like sofarsogood says try off-peak days like Tue thru Thurs when demand is slackest and try all different times of day.

I meant bus all the way to Paris. Cheap - loooong - uncomfortable.>
Yes indeedy - years ago took the night bus and a looooong uncomfy ride and not even perhaps as cheap as 39 pounds or not much. You get what you pay for by bus.
