London to Harwich pier

We plan to stop in London a few days prior to embarking on a Baltic cruise Leaving from Harwich in late May, 07. I understand there is a train from London (Liverpool station) to the Harwich pier during cruise season. Has anyone taken this train? Or is it better to take a taxi?

Thanks!

The train out of Liverpool Street station takes you directly to the port. You get off the train and on the boat. I would find justifying the cost of a taxi problematical.

And perhaps a taxi would cost more than the cruise!

Trains London Liverpool Street Station to Harwich International, as the pier station is called, go about twice hourly and take 1.5 hours. www.nationalrail.co.uk for schedules and fares.

Thank you, Robespierre and PalenqueBob. We'll definitely plan on the train. Thanks, too, for the nationalrail website!
