London to Dublin with kids
 

Hello all- I need help, we are planning a trip next month to London, Dublin and Kilkenny (maybe Kilkenny). We have 2 children (12 &4) and want to figure out the easiest way to get to Dublin. From Dublin we plan to rent a car and go to Kilkenny for 3 nights and then back to to Dublin for 2 days. Since this trip was planned so quickly, I feel a bit overwhelmed with starting the planning.
This trip is our first big trip since having kids and we have 11 days total. Any suggestions are welcome. I have been scouring the forum but it has been so long since I could even dream about a trip.

Trains and ferry will take a very long time.

We booked our flight from London to Dublin. Thank you for the advice. We will pick up a car in Dublin and drive out to Kilkenny. If anyone has an idea of a must see near Kilkenny, I would love to hear it.
