London theatre tickets.

What is the best website for purchasing theatre tickets before arrival in London?
One that shows seating before choosing seats and, of course, best prices with transaction fees included.

thanks

It depends on the show -- some book directly from their box office, some send you to their group booking office, and some use ticketmaster/etc.

the best option is to go to the official website of the theatre/show and click on the booking link. Then you'll get to the right place.

this site has seating charts for most every theatre http://www.londontheatre.co.uk/

However, the VAST majority of shows don't need to be booked ahead at all. It is only the blockbusters really. So which show(s) are you considering.

Most are available at TKTS the day of performance -- and they have seating charts for every theatre they handle.

Thanks for the link.

The show is "Yes, Prime Minister" at the Gielgud.

I have used playbill.com to buy NY Broadway and London tickets. The ticket links for each show take you to the ticketmaster or other outlet that sells the tickets.

http://www.theatremonkey.com/ always gets good ratings

I called the theater directly to get Oliver tickets and we did not pay a premium for the tickets. Some of the theater websites charge a surcharge increasing the price of the ticket.

broadwaybox.com has a section devoted to London theatre and lists a lot of discounts for many shows.

We used theatremonkey and it was excellent, but we also got good last minute tickets from an off-price sales desk within the Criterion Theatre.
