I've done the half price booth in London probably 50 times over the years, and I think the longest I ever stood in the line was maybe about 20 minutes -- and the line was incredibly long. It just moves fast (there are separate lines for matinee and evening, by the way, so get in the right one). The longest people stand in line is when they arrive an hour before it opens, so of course they stand in line at least an hour!!

Can't tell you about July, but I'd be surprised if there weren't still tickets for Chitty then -- it's been running quite a while and the theatre is enormous!

And that really is surprising what the salesman said. I've always found the box office people in London to be totally honest and helpful, but he's sure wrong at that one.
