London theater tickets

Where can I get discount theater tickets? Should I buy in the US or London for best price and availability? Playbill.com has great discount for New York City only.
My husband and I are going to London as well and we did some checking on London Theater tickets so thought I'd share with you what I found.

Except for megahits, tickets are usually available either from the box office or a London ticket agent. To ensure tickets to any performance, order them in advance from a ticket specialist, such as Keith Prowse and Company in New York. The Half-Price Theater Ticket Booth in Leicester Square sells tickets for same-day performances at half the cost, plus a service charge - cash only though.

Good luck and enjoy!

Another tip from a Brit:
Go direct to the theatre and ask if there are any returns for that evening's perfromance You'll pay the ticket price and avoid the queues. Ticket agents are fine but charge a bit more. Never buy tickets from touts. When you get to London check out the Evening Standard on a Thursday for the Hot Tickets supplement, or The Daily Telegraph which has a fax-back booking hotline for all West End theatres.

We found good "day of" tickets at Harrods Department store a few years ago. They have a section for plays downstairs. No discount, but great seats.
