London Street Maps

Does anyone know anything about "A-Z London Street Map". I read somewhere that this is a carry around guide. I can be purchased at Victoria Station. Can I obtain one somewhere before I arrive in London?
Thanks
jay

Jay,
A-Z makes a variety of London maps -- different sizes of paperback books as well as a fold-out map. All are excellent. I advise you buy a full-size paperback A-Z; that way you can look up any street in the city.

Try Amazon.co.uk to order one. If they don't have them, you can email me; I have the publisher's address somewhere.

Best of luck.

yes the London A to Z is the bible for finding your way around. It comes in several sizes but the best one is a little bit bigger than pocket sized - but still small. You can get it in most large US book stores - Borders, Barnes and Noble, probably Amazon. It is on sale in just about every train station, tube station, newsagent, bookstall in London. But if you do ask for it in person in London - It will be much cheaper there - ask for the "A to Zed".

My latest copy cost $11.95 here and would have been 4.50 GBP in the UK.

There are probably a dozen different versions of A to Z's - mini-sized, pocket-sized, purse-sized, brief-case sized, central London only, all of London, etc. Unless you have access to a good book store with a strong travel section in which to browse, you would be better off buying one at the WH Smith's in Victoria Station
