London - small silver spoons
Does anyone know where in London one can buy the spoons that are used when tea/coffee are served? They are smaller than our teaspoons, but larger than a demi-tasse spoon.

Thanks
Fodors

I bought my silver in the Royal Arcade, off Bond Street, the same arcade that has the Folio Society bookshop. Other shops are in Islington, 200 yards north of Angel tube station. And a good outing to an area of such shops is to the Lanes in Brighton, an hour from Victoria by train.

If you've the energy, you would enjoy the silver market by Bermondsey Abbey, on Friday mornings. Trade starts at six, and by eight the bargains are gone. You check train times the day before, reach Tower Hill station early, walk over Tower Bridge, and walk or take any bus southward half a mile to the Abbey. Nearby stalls sell hot strong tea.

Please write if I can help further. Welcome to London

Ben Haines
I've bought quite a bit of Victorian and antique silver at the Silver Vaults near the courts in the City of London. It's an actual vault underground with various dealers who have stalls down there. It's great fun to see even if you don't find exactly what you want.

I recently saw some antique english cutlery made of nickel-silver. Any one know what is nickel-silver and how much should it cost? Thanks

Ben Haines gave you some great places to go. I would just add Portobello Market on Saturdays. I bought 2 dozen of those spoons there- starting frpm the top of the hill, one of the stalls in the front of a store with many stalls named something like Fairytale Antiques. If is not exactly that name, it definitely has Fairy in the name. I have bought things there a few times. I have had very good luck in that particular group of stalls.

So what do you do with these little spoons? Are they the decorative kind my mom used to collect or do you use them for something?
