London - Regents Park to Gatwick also can you get 2for1 after June3?
 

We are arriving in London via Eurostar from Paris and wondered what the best way to get from the hotel (Melia White House) in Regents Park area to Gatwick fot our trip home. Taxi would probably be easiest & quickest but does anyone know how much that would cost? I have read many threads and traveling around London just seems so confusing. I also have read about 2for1 offers on this website but it seems they are only good until June 3. We will be in London June 5-8, leaving Sat June9. Any help would be appreciated.

Don't know the cost of taxi, but that would be very expensive.

Melia White House is a short walk to Warren Street tube station. From there you can take the Northern line to Victoria Station (no change required), and then you can take the Gatwick Express.

I think the London 2for1 offer is not good for the summer (high season), so you're out of luck.

No, a taxi would definitly NOT be easiest nor fastest (if you meant taking a taxi all the way to LGW). That could easily take 2 hours or more and cost a fortune. A car service would cost less - but still take forever . . .

If you don't have a lot of luggage you can take the tube from Warren Street to Victoria and then the Gatwick Express to the airport. Or you can take the tube to Kings Cross and the Thameslink train to Gatwick.

W/ a lot of luggage - a taxi to Kings X or to Victoria then the train.

Taxi from the hotel to Victoria should be £10-15 at most. It's not too far and the traffic should'nt be that bad on Saturdays.
If you don't have much luggage and don't mind stairs, of course you can take a tube. The hotel should be about 10-15 min walk to Warren St station. It's 3 stops so should be about 6-8min ride, no need for a transfer and Victoria station has escalators.

From Waterloo (where Eurostar arrives), you take Northern Line to Warren St station. Again, no transfer, 6 stops.

If you opt for tube, just make sure you check beforehand there are no repair works affecting either the station or the tube lines on the weekend.

Why not - the current set of offers run from June 2006 to June 2007 and were valid throughout the summer of 2006.

Assuming that there are some new offers coming along it seems probable that they will also be valid throughout the summer

But until the new offers are posted you can't be certain

Note that in order to use them you need to be in possession of a valid travelcard or British (not Eurostar) rail ticket.

In OP's case it would probably be cheaper for them to buy 1 day zone 1-2 off-peak travelcards each day rather than the more expensive 3 day travelcard which is only available for peak travel
