London Regent's Park Area

I have an opportunity to stay at the Marriott in Regent's Park area in February at a very good rate.

Can anyone provide some info on the area?

The last time I was in London I stayed in the Marylebone area near Baker Street and like it.

The map shows that Regent's Park is fairly close to Marylebone - probably about three miles away.

Is the area ok? Safe? Underground access?
Resturants, etc.
REGENT'S PARK IS A FINE AREA, AND THO A BIT FAR AWAY FROM THE THEATRE DISTRICT PROPER, IS AN EASY CAB/TUBE RIDE. I'M NOT ENTIRELY CERTAIN WHERE IN THE REGENTS PARK AREA THE MARRRIOTT IS LOCATED, BUT I DO KNOW THAT WITH RESPECT TO SAFETY, DURING MY YEARS OF RESIDENCE IN THE AREA, IT WAS VERY EASY TO WALK AROUND EVEN AT NITE. REGENT'S PARK IS ACTUALLY ONLY A QUICK HOP, SKIP, AND JUMP AWAY FROM THE CORNER OF MARYLEBONE AND BAKER, AND THAT TUBE WOULD BE AN EASY ONE TO USE......HAVE FUN AND GOOD LUCK!!

To the best of my knowlege there is no Marriott near Regent's Park. (I could be mistaken, but I don't think so). The nearest one is in Swiss Cottage I believe, just sort of northwest of the park. Regent's Park is lovely, I've stayed near Marylebone Sta. many times and you can walk to the park from there in just a few minutes. If the Marriott is in Swiss Cottage you will be in Zone 2. Provide us with the address of the hotel and we will be able to get you better info.

I agree w/ Lori - the only Marriott I know of in the area is Swiss Cottage. Of course they could have opened one in the last few months.

Swiss Cottage is a nice area (not quite as upscale as Regents Park) but is not as convenient for the tube, etc. being in zone 2.

Jump on Marriot's website and check. They should be able to provide you with mor details about the hotel and neighborhood. I do think there is a Marriot in that area but I don't recall that it was listed under Regent's Park.
