London record stores
Is anyone here a music person that knows of record stores that I should not miss while in London? I am mostly looking for...um...rock n' roll-type stuff, britpop, folks on independent lables, etc. Generally stuff that is harder to find then going to a regular record store. Like a 'High Fidelity'-type place. CD and/or vinyl, doesn't make much difference.

Any suggestions?

If you've not been to one before - or even if you have -- the Virgin Records Megastore is pretty impressive, at least the ones in Paris and New York are, and I would trust that the London one is at least as huge as those two. But I'm sure there must be many others that aren't part of a megachain and might have more out-of-the-way stuff . . .

Hi-I don't know the name of the store-but it is in Neals Yard in Covent Garden..A big record store(not a mega- store) just large with a lot of alternative music/British and European artists...we had a spree there for our son who was about 19 at the time-he gave them all a thumbs up when he listened to them:)
