London - Priceline Help

Greetings.
I am hoping to secure a hotel room for 7 nights in early December through Priceline. Any thoughts on when is best to start trying for a room in December to secure the best rate? This far out? Closer to Dec? Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Some people have won great deals 11 months in advance. Might as well try now. But no need to rush to take a high price, as more availability could open later.

Thanks WillTravel.
Any thoughts on highest price you'd bid right now - Bloomsbury, Mayfair, Kensington, Westminster - 4 star? I've looked through old Bidding for Travel posts to get a sense of what people have paid in Dec, but didn't have much luck. Again, any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I would suggest that the forums on the www.betterbidding.com website is a great source of information regarding Priceline bids. You might get better information there.

betterbidding and biddingfortravel.com are the best sites to check for bidding advice. Then if you have specific questions about the different zones, hotels etc you can ask here.

I've managed to secure a hotel near St James [Jolly St Edmonds?] thru Priceline for about $100/ night [ $ not pounds] in June - also a couple of nights for $90 in same location - worth a try

I'm a huge fan of priceline, as I recently got the 4* Thistle Marble Arch in Bloomsbury for $60/night plus taxes. The only problem with priceline is that it's non-refundable and non-changeable. Make sure your plans are firm before booking.

Just got 4* Holiday Inn Kensington Forum for late June for $80 + tax (= $100). Detail is on biddingfortravel.com. Same user name.

Anyways, you can start as soon as you're certain that you're going.

Thanks again for all your helpful replies. I've used priceline many times and know which zones I'm interested in for a hotel room. I was primarily looking for info on rates people have secured in December for a 4 star and how far in advance you've had luck bidding to secure the best rates. I've already looked at bidding for travel and better bidding for help. I'll keep bidding now and see what I get. Thanks again for your helpful replies. Wanderfar
