London Please help ! Rubens Hotel or Millennium Baileys ??

Marie, have not stayed at Bailey's tho I know others have posted their satisfaction with the hotel and its location. <BR><BR>We did stay at the Rubens in May and really liked it. Our room was not large, but very nicely furnished. The bathroom is a good size with nice little touches such as special soaps and shampoos, large soft towels, etc. The hotel staff was friendly and they serve a large English breakfast buffet. The location was very convenient to the major sights and to Victoria Station.<BR><BR>I would definitely stay there again.

Marie,<BR><BR>I have been both places and find the hotels comparable with regard to room size and style and common areas. The major difference is in location. I much prefer the location of the Millennium Baileys. The Rubens is right next to the palace so if you're looking for those kind of sights you're there. But Glouchester/Cromwell is a great area for shopping, museums, and London neighborhood environment. I think it's less expensive as well.

Grasshopper, we did not find the area around the Rubens Hotel to be expensive. We had several lovely meals at nearby restaurants for around 9 STG each. We were able to walk to the following sights from our hotel: Wellington Arch, Hyde Park, Green Park, St. James Park, Westminster Abbey, Parliament/Big Ben, London Eye, Cabinet War Roms, Trafalgar Square, National Gallery, and Picadilly Circus. <BR><BR>I think if Marie wants to stay at the Bailey's Hotel, that's fine, but I think the area around the Rubens has just as much to offer.

I didn't mean the area to be expensive. I meant the hotel was more expensive. Of course with the odd deals you can get now it's hard to say what you'll have to pay anywhere.<BR><BR>I agree, Betty, as I said... if you want to be near the Palace and the sights in that area the Rubens is the place. If you want shopping and museums and a more regular London neighborhood area the Bailey's is the place. The hotels are very similar in terms of what they offer.
