London: play, 'Voyage 'Round My Father'

"Since it hasn't opened yet, it's hard to say." Funny - I could have sworn I went to see it back in July.... It was well written and beautifully acted, by the way. The Donmar is pretty small, so I'd go ahead and buy tickets ahead of time.

It hasn't opened yet in the West End. It is a Donmar transfer. Many (most actually) good Donmar production do sell out and sometimes far in advance. But by the time they get to the larger West End venues it's often much easier to get tix.

thursdaysd, yes, you probably did see it at the wonderful little Donmar, however it closed there and now the production is reopening in the West End at Wyndham's Theatre -- a much larger venue. That's why I mentioned the good reviews while it was at the Donmar. It is currently in previews for the West End production.
As you probably know, the Donmar is always a tough ticket and mainly sold on subscriptions. But since it is now moving to the West End, it is anyone's guess how difficult the tickets might become.
That issue with the phone number could be a problem. I forgot that some of those exchanges are not only impossible to call from the discount phone systems, but sometimes can't be dialed from the US at all. If that is the case, here is another number to try which will work with the 1010 number.

No trip to London is complete without a trip to the Donmar for me. But sadly over this past Christmas when we had tickets there for The Wild Duck, we arrived that night to discover the show cancelled due to illness in the cast. They don't have understudies.

Ithink 0870 is like our 900 numbers.
101 6868 is 6 or 8 cents to the UK with no connection charge.
Saw Jacobi in London some years ago in a wonderful play about the breaking of the German Enigma code of WWII

I'm grateful to Giselle for posting this message. I've just bought tickets for mid-October, through Ticketmaster, where the service charge is only a bit higher than buying through the theater itself. But the theater website kept offering me seats near an aisle, in row B of the stalls, whereas Ticketmaster gave me center seats one in row C. I'd rather be in the center and one row back.
Jacobi is a spectacular actor, and I'm thrilled that I'll get to see him on stage.
