London photos - need help identiflying a place

On my trip to London last month I took a photo and I'm not exactly sure what it is. I've shown my photos to several people and everyone is asking what this place is. I know it was on Fleet Street, near Temple Bar. I think it was a bank entrance but I'm not sure. Can anyone help me identify it. The photo is #370 at this website:

I sure hope you find out! Judging from the photo, whatever it is is beautiful.

It's the entrance to the Fleet St branch of Lloyd's Bank. Though I'm not sure if, like so many other bank branches, it hasn't been turned into something else (another bank has been trying to create a catchphrase in its TV adverts with the line 'My bank has turned my branch into a trendy wine bar' - though they were one of the busiest at it, at one time).

Great photos, by the way. You were certainly lucky with the weather!

Hmm, looks like it might have gone by the by: here's a link to Lloyds (now Lloyds TSB) branches in the area: http://www.lloydstsb.com/branch_locator/results.asp

Patrick - you're thinking of NatWest Bank, who make a habit of running TV ads bemoaning the things that all banks do, themselves included! Their strapline is 'another way', suggesting they do things differently, when clearly they don't.

From "One man's London" by N.pt Murphy, the premise was originally built as an exclusive restaurant at early 20th century, went under only after a very short period; after several unsuccessful attempts to revive, ends up as a branch of bank.

Have you checked the interior deco? It is amazing.
