London Pass or No?
 

Im having a hard time deciding if the London Pass will pay for itself for what I want to do?
Things Included in pass: (approx. price in GBP)
Towel of London- 22
Westminster Abbey- 20
London Zoo- 20
Kensington Palace- 15
Shakespeare's Globe- 15
The Queens Gallery- 10
Charles Dickens Museum- 9
Florence Nightingale Museum- 7

I'm unsure of how much time we will need for all of these attractions, so I don't know if I should be looking at the 2 or 3 day pass? Also I'm questioning weather adding the travel card part of it on will pay for itself, or if i should get an oyster card separately?

There are also a few things we want to do such as Madame Tussauds, The London Eye, and the Sherlock Holmes Museum that aren't included in the pass.

If you have 2 folks you can get 2 for 1 admissions at many of those paying sights - check it out - would about half your ticket costs -the general mantra here is that the London Pass is not a good deal for what most will actually do and especially in light of 2 for 1:

You need a paper travel card issued by a national rail station to qualify so re-think the Oyster Card in light of this.

A lot of the things covered by the pass wouldn't be on my list of things to see in London. I suggest you make a list of the places you would have wanted to visit if you hadn't heard of this pass. Then add up the entrance fees, keeping in mind the two-for-one deals you might be able to get.

Be sure to get a Travelcard in a railway station, not an underground station. You also have to plan ahead and print out your vouchers.

You also have to check the list of included attractions, which changes constantly. (Check the expiration dates, but check again close to your trip date, because there will be new offers.)

The London Eye is included at the moment, but not on the London Pass.

If so, it's not worth £22!

The London Pass almost never pencils out (but it does once in a while) . . . but it NEVER makes sense if there are two of you.

The LP is very expensive and you have to go to a LOT of second tier sites to make it pay off. With 2 people traveling together, you can get in to soooo many places on the 2for1 discounts, plus all the free sites.

How long are you in London? I'm guessing you included places like the Zoo and Florence Nightingale museum simply <i>because</i> they are on the Pass. Not a good reason to spend precious/limited time in London just to make the LP worthwhile

No. My SO specifically wants to go to the zoo and I'm a Nursing major so the Florence Nightingale museum is a must for me. We will be doing those things whether we get the pass or not. I wasn't aware of the 2 for 1 deals, it's sounding like the London Pass isn't going to be the best option. Can I pay for most attractions with a debit card or should I plan on having enough cash?

Debit/credit/cash - all are fine 99% of the time.

Credit card a little safer than debit for attractions?

In London you can use your debit/credit card pretty much everywhere...safely
