London Pass
Will you share your thoughts on the London Pass? I know we will never get to all the places it includes, but wondered if it was a good deal for 4 days in London, hitting all the major attractions.

No -- Just no :(
I haven't priced them out lately but they are bound to be even more expensive that in the past. The blurbs make is seem like you'd save soooooooo much money. But to make them cost effective one needs to rush around from place to place and squeeze in as many biggies as possible. But on a short trip onne would likely want to include at minimum the V&A, British Museum, and maybe the National Gallery/National Portrait galeries- all of which are free (as are the Tates, Wallace Collection, Imperial War Museum, Sir John Soane's and others) With the LP you are paying for allllll those for-pay sites, the vast majority you'd never have a chance/interest to visit. |

Well, that's a resounding NO!! That was my gut feeling but thought I'd check with the experts. Thanks once again!!

Not to rock the boat here, but I think you need to price out whether it will actually save money for you or not. I also thought it was a bit of a touristy trap/scam, but when I priced out how much I was going to pay to see many of the tourist sites on my FIRST visit to London, it was actually much more cost-effective to get the pass. For example, I knew I wanted to do a Notting Hill Tour that also included tea, and that + the many other sites I wanted to see were much less expensive using the pass. Yes, you do need to fit everything into 2-3 days, so be aware of that, and if you're planning for a more leisurely pace it's prob not the best. But in some circumstances, it can be a good deal.
