London-Paris overnight travel
This is our first trip to Europe. We are arriving to London at 8 p.m.(Sep 24) and leaving London at 10 a.m.(Oct 3)with intention to see London and Paris. Is there any way to get from London to Paris (or vice versa) overnight? Otherwise we will need to reserve hotel in London twice.
Thank you.
Thank you.

There is, but even if you could make it I doubt you'd want to.
There are nightly Eurolines buses, leaving London Victoria coach station at 1930 and 2100. You should be glad to hear it's impossible to get to Victoria in an hour from touchdown.

Hi SP,
Can you get earlier flights?
There are budget flights from LHR to CDG earlier in the day.
See www.whichbudget.com

Do you already have the tickets - or can you change them?
Why not just do an open jaw into London and out of Paris? Even if you have a small fee to change tickets it might be less than the cost of getting from Paris back to London - and would certailly be more convenient.

There are various one way flights on both British and BMI for less than $100 on that date but none of them would get you there in time to make the connection. The one flight I found that WOULD get you back in time was on Air France for over $500!!!!!
The Open Jaw idea is, as always, a good one, or you may be stuck with traveling back to London the night before.

Years ago, there was an overnight sleeper train which was taken across the channel by ferry, but that ceased in the early-1970s. Now that there is a railway under the channel, there is no overnight train service.
You can do it overnight by sea via Portsmouth and Caen. Brittany Ferries (www.brittany-ferries.com) have superb overnight ships with restaurants, cabins, etc, from Portsmouth (under two hours by train from London) to Caen (under two hours by train to Paris).
You can leave London at 8 pm and get the ship from Portsmouth, but if you're arriving at Heathrow at eight, there won't be time.
On the return journey, if you're leaving Heathrow at 10 am, you'll need to spend the previous night in London.
