london > paris + london hotel recommendations?
hello,
so i'm going to the UK to read from my book at an exhibit in oxford the first week of april.
can anyone clue me in on a decent hotel in london? somewhere near hyde park? and costing up to $150 a night? (i was only given hotels in oxford for free, unfortunately.)
also, i'd love to take a train to paris april 10 and read at culture rapide again but i'm having a hard time finding RT train tix under $700 because its so soon.
are there any bus lines that dont take like 6 hours or more?
thanks in advance for all yr advice!

Have you checked Eurostar.com in additon to Rail Europe for your trip to Paris? I just looked for 4/10 returning on 4/13 and could get it for just under 200 Pounds. Not sure what the current exact exchange rate but I am sure that's less then $700!
A couple of suggetions for more reasonable priced hotels in London, but not in Hyde Park
1. Lime Tree (Near Victoria Station)
2. Premier Inn London _Country Hall (right on the river)]
Also try Priceline. Go over to www.betterbidding.com and read. See what people are paying and getting when you want to go. I find London a great place for Priceline for a party of one or two. (Don't try this with your family)

Could you give us the real dates of travel as it's hard to make suggestions otherwise. Random dates make it easy to get return tickets for 200USD
Have you checked flights from CDG with AF/BA to Heathrow (which is convenient for Oxford) or Easyjet to Luton
