okay, US$100 is probably possible in London, but the OP admits she didn't know the price of hotels in London and somehow thought that was midrange. But it isn't in London, and wouldn't be in any major US city either. And sometimes hotel rates can be cheaper in summer than in winter, as major capitals usually do not have hotels that revolve mainly around summer tourists, but around lots of business travel. So a rate in August can be lower than in February.

So to be realistic, if one really wants a midrange hotel, you don't stay in any place for $100 in London, even if you could find it. I use www.londontown.com, it can show you midrange options. I think you can find a place for around 100 GBP, but not $100 that was more midrange (keeping in mind that 3* London hotels are not as nice as they are in Paris IMO).

I stayed in this hotel once and really liked it, plus it's location. It was convenient to Hyde Park and the Lancaster Gate tub stop and not too far from the dead center. I, too, would skip Brussels and focus on London and Paris. In fact, you could spend the entire trip in either place and not run out of things to see and do.

Folks let's get the snid remarks over and give this person some real info. I have not been to London in 50 years so no recommendations , but I have visited Paris many times as recently as 2012and have stayed in 3 inexpensive hotels you might want to check out. The Jeanne d'Arc in the Marais, hotel d'Argenson in the 8th arrondissement and hotel Turrine on Ave de Tourville in the 7th. Not sure what they are now charging as we have been staying on apartments in the Marais for our last 3 trips. If you are interested in an apartment(these awe small) let me know.

You can easily spend about 3 days in London and 3 in Paris. In Belgium, it depends what you like to see. I suggest to go directly to Bruges, spend a night and day and then take the train to Gent and spend a night and day and then visit Brussels as last day. Brussels isn't that spread out like Paris and London.

If doing London-Bruges via Eurostar from London you have two choices - take the Eurostar to Lille-Europea and walk the about half-mile on a dedicated walkway to Lille-Flandres station which has lots of trains to Bruges - some direct some with a change of trains in Kortrijk (I believe - a simply transfer from one platform to an adjoining one IME.

That would be the quickest route but maybe not the cheapest because if you take the Eurostar to Brussels the ABS fare - which is either free or costs a few extra euros or pounds - lets you continue onto Bruges on any train within 24 hours (48?) meaning you could even spend a day in Brussels and then take any train within 24 hours of your arrival to Bruges at no additional cost.

To go direct London-Brussels-Bruges would take longer I think that via Lille but could be cheaper with the ABS (All-Belgian Stations) fare.
