Not sure if you mean car "hire" (rental) when you say car "service" - - or perhaps you mean car with driver. If so, I (and others here on this board) have had good experience with www.chauffeur.co.uk - - no longer run the "famous" Eddie, but apparently still competent and friendly.

Best wishes,

Rex Bickers
Westerville, Ohio (USA)

For Heathrow
The following have been recommended by others on this forum:
Shire Chauffeur Services, phone/fax 2 442 250 775. Airport pickups, theater, and daytrips outside of London.
One recommended driver is Mr. Ray Colmer. As an example the charge for a van pickup of 5 people with luggage from Heathrow to central London in Feb 99 was 36 pounds.

Philip Clancy, phone 07971 001 641, to and from London-Gatwick or Heathrow. In Sept 99 the charge was 70 pounds Gatwick-London.

North London Hire, phone 2 81 340 3630
Driver can meet you at Customs. Cost Sept 99 from Heathrow to London was 23 pounds, including parking fee.
This is a large company with over 100 drivers with their own vehicles
For Paris, I don't know of any private car services, other than taxis or the airport shuttle, a van service. You call them when you arrive, they pick you up at your terminal and take you to your hotel. They may be picking up others as well, so you may make stops at other hotels before you get to yours.
The e-mail address is:
[email protected]
They have a desk at the airports, but encourage booking in
advance so you don't have to wait. Toll-free # from US is 888-426-2705.
Their web site: www.parisanglo.com/clients/ashuttle.html
In March 99 it was 89FF per person for two or more.
You can reserve prior to leaving home (they'll ask for a credit card for a deposit). Go to the courtesy telephone near baggage claim at either Orly or CDG. You'll be directed to a nearby gate where the van will pick you up. I have read mixed reactions on this service. Some have praised it, some have said they were kept waiting for the van for a long time.
A taxi from the airport (assuming all of you plus your luggage will fit in one)
is the equivalent of about
US$40-50, depending on traffic.

If you really want a personal chauffeur driven limo in Paris, I'd recommend Carey Limosine service; they have bilingual drivers and are reliable and reasonable. But since you're staying in a budget hotel, I suspect you may simply mean a group van shuttle? I think someone else mentioned one of those. However, I hired a Carey Limo last year at CDG because I was going several places with baggage, and needed him to wait with my bags so didn't want a cab charging for wait time, I think it's about 600-700F for service from the airport to town; I got a discount and only paid about 500F but that included a couple trips (CDG to Champs-Elysees office where he waited, then from there to my apartment in the 15th arrondisment) that took about an hour. Their WeBsite for their Paris office is www.sportinglimousine.com. I think you probably want the group van service.

Last year I had an excellent experience with the limo service run by "Eddie" at www.chauffeur.com.uk...we were met at the airport and did not have to wait...we were also picked up at Waterloo for transport to the airport after arriving from Paris via Eurostar...both times the van was there and we didn't have to wait at all...This year we booked a service called "Hotel Link" (they also have a desk at the car rental area) but we had to wait for the van for a half hour @ Heathrow...however it was reasonable at $44.00 round trip...two people...
