PatrickLondon...

Yes, I was thinking the same thing -- after I noticed that I couldn't find a National Rail ticket vendor on the Heathrow T1 map (unlike at Gatwick where it is pretty soon after you exit the security area).

We'll just load regular 1-6 zone single-day passes onto our Oysters for our first day as well as cash for the tube trip back to LHR...and maybe a little extra to be safe.

[NOTE: We're newbies to Heathrow, so any advice would be appreciated - ATMs, tips to save time, etc. I can see the tube ticket vendor location on the website map. I assume there are adequate signs for getting to the tube itself. We'll bring £60 or so and have our ATM and credit cards, so we'll be fine cash-wise till we reach out hotel if we can't find an ATM.]

Needless to say, there's plenty to do that first day without the coupons, especially since we don't land till 10 a.m.

You can't load anything less than a 7 day Travelcard onto Oystercard - but has been pointed out using PAYG the maximum you will pay is the same as a one day Travelcard
